A major Swedish automotive manufacturer, Scania is a world-leading provider of commercial vehicles, specifically lorries, trucks and buses, to a global market.

Formed in 1911, Scania today has nearly 59,000 employees in more than 100 countries. It has production facilities in Sweden, France, the Netherlands, Thailand, China, India, Argentina, Brazil, Poland and Finland as well as assembly plants in ten countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.

A founding member of LeadIT, Scania’s stated purpose is to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system, creating a world of mobility that is better for business, society and the environment.

Scania is committed to electrification and releasing at least one new electric product annually. To give customers and partners as much clarity as possible regarding the speed of change, Scania has published an electrification roadmap as an overview of coming product introductions. Scania is a subsidiary of Traton, part of the Volkswagen Group.

Member's thoughts

Scania has set far-reaching climate targets and we look forward to collaborate with like-minded companies to deliver the transformational action needed to tackle climate change. Heavy commercial transport is no longer a hard-to-abate sector. We know how to reduce the emissions. We have the technology and we know what we need to do. I urge other companies in the industry to follow along with other stakeholders involved in achieving a sustainable transport system.
