Swedish greentech company SaltX Technology is active in the electrification of emission-intensive industries and aims to be at the forefront of the industry transition.
SaltX is a Swedish greentech company that aims to become a leading player in the green industrial transition by delivering technology and projects that facilitate the elimination of millions of tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
Active in the electrification of emission-intensive industries, SaltX has developed an innovative technology for electrification and carbon separation which can be used for zero-emission production of quicklime and cement. The lime and cement industry is one of the largest industrial emitters and SaltX aims to establish a new clean standard for the sector.
The company joined LeadIt to help expand its network, spread knowledge about its electrification and carbon dioxide separation technology and position itself as a vital technological enabler in achieving the Group’s carbon reduction objectives.
In June 2025, SaltX Technology entered into a strategic partnership and investment relationship with Holcim to advance low-carbon cement production.
The two companies intend to jointly develop and industrialize SaltX’s electric plasma-based and calcination technologies to advance fully electrified cement production, which would significantly reduce fossil fuel use and CO₂ emissions in clinker and cement manufacturing.
