Holcim is a Swiss multinational company, with a presence in 44 countries, that manufactures building materials including cement, aggregates and concrete.
With over 45,000 employees, Holcim provides high-value building materials (decarbonized cement, circular aggregates) and building solutions (energy-efficient building systems, high performance concrete and surfacing) to customers across the built environment – from infrastructure and industry to buildings. With its NextGen Growth 2030 strategy, Holcim has the vision to be the leading partner for sustainable construction.
Holcim is executing net-zero targets to decarbonize building across the value chain through a broad range of decrabonzation technologies. For its own production of cement and concrete, the company uses innovative low-emission raw materials like calcined clay and recycled decarbonized cement paste, as well as fossil fuel-free energy and large-scale partnerships to deploy advanced technologies such as carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS).
Under its ECOPact brand Holcim already offers a concrete that has at least 30% lower emissions. And through its MAQER Ventures program, Holcim works with hundreds of startups to scale up the most innovative technologies in the built environment.
In June 2025, Holcim entered into a strategic partnership and investment relationship with SaltX Technology to advance low-carbon cement production. The two companies intend to jointly develop and industrialize SaltX’s electric plasma-based and calcination technologies to advance fully electrified cement production, which would significantly reduce fossil fuel use and CO₂ emissions in clinker and cement manufacturing.
