LeadIT will support Student Energy in creating the Global Youth Energy Outlook (GYEO), a youth-led research project that will be launched at COP26 in Glasgow, UK. The aim of GYEO is to empower young people across the world by engaging them to share their perspectives and insights on sustainable energy transition.
LeadIT will serve as a Founding Partner of the Global Youth Energy Outlook (GYEO), Student Energy announced in a press release this week. Supported by LeadIT and DNV, the idea is that the Outlook will engage young people in discussions about the future of energy, particularly in the challenges and opportunities the energy sector faces across the world.
As a Founding Partner, LeadIT will be supporting GYEO by sharing expertise and serve as an advisor to the youth leadership team in issues related to research processes, methodology, and communications strategy.
“We are supporting the Outlook as a Founding Partner because it is a great opportunity to give young people a voice in the debate on how to transition our industries, economies and societies. In particular, the Global Youth Energy Outlook will give us a clear indication of the changes that the industrial workforce of tomorrow wants and expects from industry today”, says Gökce Mete, LeadIT’s Head of Secretariat.
As a part of the Outlook, regional roadmaps to 2030 will be developed for ten regions across the world to recognize the various obstacles and conditions that different regions are facing in terms of the transformation of energy systems. The final report of GYEO will be launched in November 2021 at the COP 26 in Glasgow.
